Bottles & Yarn

Baby Food Jar, Prego Sauce Jar, Beer Bottle, Random Bottle

I have empty bottles of so many random things laying around the house it is ridiculous. I've been finding myself wanting to finish things in the fridge or cabinet that are in glass jars so I can do some home improvement with them. I am lame.

Anyway, my neat freak side got the best of me yesterday, and my stack of empty bottles is slowly disappearing. After 30 minutes of standing in front of the yarn section in Wal-Mart (I am sure the lady working thought I had been mutated by aliens and was frozen in one spot. Seriously people, I did not move from standing in front of the yarn for a v.e.r.y long time. I annoyed myself) and a l.o.t of sticky fingers later I finished my project.

Ingredients:
Yarn (good luck, haha)
Spray Adhesive
Bottle of any Kind

Directions:
- I always started at the top. I just thought it was easier.
- Spray 2 inch sections with adhesive and start wrapping around bottle.
- Once that section is covered, spray more and repeat until finished.

Note:
If you do not have spray adhesive, you can use double sided tape (did that in early post). This is not even close to as productive as the spray adhesive.
Also, lay something down on the floor before you spray (garbage bag). You'll save yourself a mess.

Yarn Letters

Thanks to my empty box of Cheez-Its and some jute, I got myself a cool looking letter for home decor.

Ingredients:
Any type of Box / Cardboard
Scissors
Yarn (any color)
Glue Gun/Double Sided Tape/Gorilla Glue (if desired)

Directions:
Trace the letter you want onto the box and cut out
(or for all you artsy people who need no help, just cut your letter out)

Wrap yarn around the letter until you can no longer see the box
Using hot glue gun/double sided tape/gorilla glue may be helpful

- - - WARNING - - -
Some letters are way harder to wrap than others. Thank you hubby for giving me a last name that was hard to wrap with jute. Blah.

Easy Cheap Wall Art

We all know that wall art is super expensive at any store ... So why not get a little paint on your knuckles, save a lot of money, and have some pride behind your home decor.

Here is what you'll need
Canvas (as few or as many as you desire)
Painters Tape (thick or thin)
Acrylic Paint (whatever your flavor is)
Wall Hangers

How you'll do it
- Lay your canvas's right next to each other in the way you will want to hang them.

- Put down your painters tape in any design you desire across all your canvas. Make sure to push down on your painters tape to assure it is stuck to the canvas tightly.
(I did this with reckless abandon and it turned out awesome)

- Paint the different sections with your color choices. I used a dominate color (red) and two other colors as back splash to give a little umph.

- Let dry. You may need to put a few layers of paint on. I had to put 3 layers on some parts of it. Just let it dry, and then you will be able to distinguish whether it needs more paint or not.

- After paint has dried, peel off the tape. My paint kind of leaked under parts of the tape so I just went over the lines with white paint retouching spots with a super steady hand.

- Hammer on wall hangers and hang wherever you heart desires.

Smooth As Honey

Homemade Remedy to Make a 'Smooth As a Baby's Bottom' Face

Another SUPER CHEAP idea that will make your face feel awesome.

Ingredients
One EGG
2 Tablespoons of HONEY

Instructions
Beat egg until it is foamy
Mix in 2 tablespoons of honey
Wash face with hot wash cloth (open them pores up baby)
Apply all over your face
Keep on for 10-15 minutes
Rinse off with warm wash cloth
Feel your baby bottom face

I just did this ... And before I did it, I told hubby what I was doing ... Needless to say, he thought I was a weirdo and completely out of my mind. After the whole process, I told him to feel my face ... BOOYAH!! He said, "wow, you're face is really smooth." In your face hubby =) I'll have him doing it before long too.

Have fun with your new face =)

Jute.Jar.Tape.

My little project I did while Ricky watched ESPN.

This is super duper easy and looks even cooler.
But the BEST part is that is it super duper cheap.

Ingredients Needed:
Jar (salsa, baby food, sauce, etc)
Double Sided Tape
Jute or Yarn (any color)

Directions:
- Put double sided tape all around the jar.
- Start from the bottom of jar and wrap jute/yarn around the jar.
- Tie a small knot at the top when finished.
(as the top gets smaller it is harder to wrap the jute/yarn around so
I usually have to wrap about 3 layers around the top so cover it all)

Waaaaaalloooooohhhhh!!!!
After ten minutes ..... My house looks way cooler.
Thanks.jute.jar.and.tape.
